What we do
Your Birth BFF
As doulas, we work to educate pregnant couples on the birthing process through prenatal education. Our goal is to provide education to parents so that they are prepared with tools to understand labor. We also attend births to provide additional education and support throughout labor. We aspire to give you an empowered birth experience in which you are continually supported and respected.
Who we are
We are Kyla, Ashtyn, Makenna, and Brenna. Labor and postpartum nurses with a passion for serving and educating expectant parents about the process of birth and postpartum. Kyla, Ashtyn, and Makenna are certified birth doulas through Childbirth International. We have a passion and calling to provide women with education and tools for an empowered birth experience. By facilitating a birth space of positivity, relaxation, understanding, and safety woman are set up for a more comfortable birth. We have been trained in techniques using optimal position changes, relaxation, massage, acupressure, hypnobirthing, hydrotherapy, essential oils, rebozo, and much more. Our goal is to help your understand your birth and feel empowered by your birth no matter the outcome. Brenna is a great addition to our team helping with postpartum support. As an International Board Certified Lactation consultant Brenna helps postpartum moms through their feeding journey no matter what that end up looking like. Brenna provides education about breastfeeding, pumping, and bottle feeding your newborn. Together we at Northwest Iowa Birth Nurse strive to provide resources to birthing and postpartum moms so that they can have the best tools for success.
